Our main goal is to provide high quality meat cuts, variety of meat products, and excellent custom processing service. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will help you get the most out of your dollar!

Community:

Sage’s Meat Processing has been involved with area 4-H groups, schools and fairs for over 70 years! Our reach extends over Montcalm, Kent and Ionia Counties. We value our relationship with our local communities. We do our best to take care of you like you were family!

History:

1948 – The original Sage’s started in downtown Greenville, MI. Donald and Wanda Sage owned Sage’s Meat Locker. They rented storage lockers in their freezer to customers to store their garden harvest, fruit preserves and meat.

1952 – Donald moved Sage’s Meat Locker to our present location. Here he was able to slaughter and process local livestock for farmers and their customers.

1965 – Roger and Joyce Sage became owners of the business. The business name changed to Sage’s Slaughterhouse and Locker Plant. They were able to make some additions to the building to be able to keep up with growing demand for custom processed animals.

2007 – Dean and Kim Harter bought the business. They had already been working for Roger and Joyce since 1986. The business name changed to Sage’s Meat Processing & Catering, Inc. They haven’t made any structure changes as of yet. Dean and Kim continue the high standards set by the Sage family.

Proudly serving the highest quality meats to towns and cities around Greenville, Michigan including: Belding, Sheridan, Stanton, Rockford, Cedar Springs, Sand Lake, Lowell, Lakeview, Ionia, Howard City, Edmore, Carson City, Saranac, Morley, Sparta, Muir, Hubbardston, Lyons and Comstock Park.
